I have a recently Jailbroken ipod touch, 2.2.1, and I downloaded a theme from the internet to my computer. How do I get that theme from my computer onto my ipod so I can use it with WinterBoard?
You need to SSH into it:
Download OpenSSH from Cydia
Download SSH Toggle or SB Settings
Download WinSCP (http://winscp.net/eng/index.php)
Get iPod’s IP address in the settings on WiFi in your iPod Touch
In WinSCP add a new session
-host name: your iPod’s IP
-user name: root
-password: alpine
I think you then put the theme into library/themes
Enjoy, email me if you have more problems

We are trying to connect two computers with the same internet connection but it is not working. We have tried with a youtube tutorial and help from our mom’s friend. Does anyone know how to help us? We have a compaq computer desktop (not sure of the year) and a 2002 desktop computer. If anyone knows how to help please help. Thanks!
IF you have internet from a cable company you already have a "router" you can just use a Cat5 (internet) cable and plug in…IF you only have one internet connector on your router get this..http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16833127083.
you simply plug your internet cable from the router to this, then get two cables and put them to this and the two computers. you will have two slots extra for expansion…OR..if you have a "network" printer, you could connect it to the switch so both computers can use the one printer.
Any suggestions on a topic? It can be anything dealing with computer security.

I have a ipod touch and i am planning to sell it. The problem is that i want to give the buyer an empty ipod, but i still want to keep my songs so i can put it in to my new ipod. Is that possible? Thanks ![]()
Yes, it is possible.
Connect your iPod Touch to iTunes. Click on the ‘******’s iPod’ tab. There should be a ‘Restore’ button on that page. Click on this button. Doing so will erase all your data from that iPod Touch.
How can I successfully sync my ipod on two computers?
Author: admin
In the past, I’ve plugged in my ipod on the primary computer and another computer in my house. Both had itunes installed. However, whenever I plugged my ipod into the second computer, the files were erased off my ipod. Therefore, I had to plug it into the primary computer to retrieve the files again.
So, how can I save the same files on both computers without running the risk of deleted files?
I think you’d need to have identical library files– you could try transfering them (the audio and library file) to the SAME folder on your other computer via internet/ LAN line.
I’ve never tried this– but it seems like the logical procedure.
i just want to understand deeply what computer security means. . pls help me ! thanks.
Definition of: computer security
The protection of data, networks and computing power. The protection of data (information security) is the most important. The protection of networks is important to prevent loss of server resources as well as to protect the network from being used for illegal purposes. The protection of computing power is relevant only to expensive machines such as large supercomputers. See information security and COMPUSEC.
A Practical Definition
In the spirit of practicality, I like the straightforward definition promulgated by Simson Garfinkel and Gene Spafford in Practical UNIX & Internet Security: "A computer is secure if you can depend on it and its software to behave as you expect."4 In essence, a computer is secure if you can trust it. Data entered today will still be there tomorrow in unaltered form. If you made services x, y, and z available yesterday, they’re still available today.
I also like the practical definition offered by Tomas Olovsson, which is narrowed a bit: "A secure system is a system on which enough trust can be put to use it together with sensitive information."5
These practical definitions circumvent an obvious element: a secure system should be hard for unauthorized persons to break into — i.e., the value of the work necessary for an unauthorized person to break in should exceed the value of the protected data. Increasing attacker workload and the risks of detection are critical elements of computer security.
For the purposes of this book, I define "system security" as:

I got a new ipod for christmas, i’ve also recently got a new computer.
Therefore, i have none of the songs that was on my old ipod on my computer, which means i can’t put the songs onto my new ipod.
Is there any way i can get the songs of my old ipod and onto my new ipod?
Here is a tip. All you need is to get all music/videos from your old iPod back to this computer and iTunes. In this case, all songs/videos are on your iTunes library that you can syn both iPods with whenever you wish to without deleting any files.
Simply use this handy program called Tansee iPod Transfer to help you http://www.gutensoft.com/Utilities/Tansee-iPod-Transfer.htm
Many of my friends are using it for its easy and safe transfer.
With just a few simple clicks, it will help you transfer all songs/videos from old iPod to your selected folder on your computer, and then you can easily add those files back to iTunes. More importantly, this won’t overwrite any original files on your iPod.And all song names are preserved.
Here is step-by-step guide on the whole process:

Best luck!

What happens to computers and laptops taken to UK tips?
Author: admin
I’ve been to several local tips and seen loads of computers and laptops being thrown away. I was wondering what happens to these and whether I’d be able to ask to take them. Several of the computers I’ve seen have been like Mac-book Airs, Dell Alienwares and some touch screen all-in-ones. I know they probably are broken but I could put the parts to good use. Do you know if it’s allowed or would I have to pay?
You Have not stated who your hoping to get them off.
Your best bet would probably be just to ask them
They may Differ from place to place so just ask them all.
(Some may say no, Others may give you them for a fee)
I want to become a computer security professional?

Im 18 at the minute doing a diploma in IT, i want to become an expert in computer security, i want to be the best. What key subjects should i look into and study? so i can get some books about it and learn. Is it possible to become a master of computer security within 10 years? So the time im 28 for example?
To be honest, the field requires experience to get to the top of it. You will probably want a university degree in computer science, although a college diploma in IT is a step in the right direction. Historically, there has been no serious advantage going for a masters degree to work in computer security. If pure computer science doesn’t interest you, math (particularly cryptography) is a decent area of study as well. Some people I know have criminology backgrounds. Your approach is essentially correct – it takes about 10 years to be considered an expert, and that 10 years comprises varied experience.
You will want to learn to program in a few languages. Not so you can become a developer, but to understand how programming and software development works. You will also want to do some time as a system administrator to learn networking, network architecture, and exactly how users will screw up everything you try to do to increase security
In my experience, all the best IT security folks spent a number of years as system administrators in medium to large organizations.
Although not necessary, it comes up on proposals a lot, so you will probably want to visit www.isc2.org and find out about getting your CISSP certification. If you’re new to the field, this will probably require some study to pass the exam.
Most IT security work is in consulting, and as a junior guy you’ll probably be doing electronic vulnerability assessments initially, firewall and router installation and configuration, and helping on threat and risk assessments. Doing those builds on your experiences as a programmer and system admin. Eventually, you’ll be leading consulting teams to provide overall security advice at the organizational level.
It’s important to lose any visions you might have of romantic late-at-night hacking where the geeky-but-cool hacker gets the girl. Most of IT security is policy and assessment, and is, quite frankly, about as exciting as a policy document can be (i.e. not very). Hacking forms a very small part. With 10-20 years experience, you’ll find yourself writing security policy, governance frameworks, and implementing security plans and policies in organizations.
Job satisfaction comes from knowing that you’ve made a little part of the world that much safer. Downsides of this work include intense frustration from the fact that you’ll tell people the same advice over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over… and they won’t listen, and repeatedly suffer the consequences that you warned them about. They will, of course, blame everyone but themselves.
Apple Ipod- Music the Way You Want it
Author: admin
On the 23rd October 2001, the world was introduced to a technological phenomenon that would change the way people listen to music forever. The release of the iPod was much anticipated and it did not let anyone down.
The first iPod released had a capacity of 5GB which was enough for the user to have 1000 songs on. Second and third generation iPod were subsequently released in 2002 and 2003 respectively with slight improvements to make the product more user friendly.
By the time the fourth, fifth and sixth generation models had been released, the iPod had become very sophisticated with memory of up to 160GB available for users to upload their favourite songs as well as films and episodes of their favourite programmes. The iPod has well and truly become the market leader in MP3 players.
As well as the classic styles, Apple also released other versions of the iPod including the Mini, which was a smaller, lightweight version of the classic with less memory. The Nano, slim and sleek and ideal for those constantly on the go, and the iPod shuffle which was a screen-less version that was designed for those exercising as it was very small.
On the 5th September, Apple once again raised the bar. The iPod Touch was released which had Wi-Fi capabilities and a Multi-touch interface. Internet access was perceived to be the only thing missing from the product so Apple corrected this and made it available providing a Safari browser.
Another reason the Apple iPod gets good reviews is for the accessories it provides. One of the most successful has been the iPod Hi-Fi; many users flocked to the shops to buy the product that was a docking station for the iPod that allowed the user to play the songs on a high quality sound system.
Added to this, the release of the iPhone and iPhone 3G means that Apple are set to have a good Christmas with many of their products being at the top of Christmas lists. With a range of iPod accessories , finding the right iPod for christmas is easy. For all the best deals on an Apple iPod and more shop online and compare prices.
