I have an Ipod touch, and we have been buying and uploading itunes music on it from the desk top computer that we had. We just purchased a new laptop, when we try to add music to the ipod from a different computer it gives us an option of erasing the contents and its entirety ( which will leave us with a blank ipod). Is there a way that we can upload more music onto the ipod using a new computer ?
The best way is to use an ipod to computer transfer program to copy files from ipod to your new computer first b4 sync.I personally use this iPod to Computer Transfer software. It helps me to transfer my Music, Movie, Photo, ePub, PDF, Audiobook, Voice Memo, Camera Roll, Podcast and TV Show etc from ipod to my computer directly and safely. It works well for me,you can give it a try.
Free download it at: http://www.dvd-video-soft.com/ipodconverter/ipod-iphone-ipad-to-pc-transfer.html
It even has step-by-step guide on the whole process.
Hope it helps.

When I say "computer" I mean a desktop or a laptop computer. I am not referring to the countless devices you own that have computers in them (your car has microcontrollers in it which one could computers). Calculators, cell phones, etc meet the technical criteria to be considered a computer. They have RAM, a processor, etc, but we’re not counting those.
My husband and I are both geeks. We have the following:
2 home-built i7-based machines running Windows7
1 2009 Mac Mini
1 2010 Mac Mini
1 home-built machine used as a Linux server, running Ubuntu 10.10.
1 home-built machine used as a media server
1 old Macbook Pro, G4 based, running Tiger.
1 Lenovo laptop running Vista
1 Dell netbook running Vista
There’s also two original iPads and one new Motorola Xoom, if those count.
I think that’s it. There are various stripped carcasses around the place, because we can’t bear to toss anything. Someday we’ll get rid of the stack of ISA cards and IDE drives. We tend to put bits and bobs together to give to friends and family who have even more antiquated machines.
what are some forms of advanced computer data security?

i am writing a book which unfortunately i have decided will involve quite a bit of computer tech. my dad is a programmer but when he tries to explain stuff, it doesn’t help. I know what a basic firewall is, but next to that i know zilch. does anyone know some forms of advanced computer security?
College computers etc have a program installed called DeepFreeze or something similar but DF is the best. When the program is in frozen state you can work on computer and save your work on External HDD or usb key. This program stops all changes to computer even the most advanced virus.
Read up how to uninstall it first as they don’t give instruction with program for security reasons. This is the best type of security you can get. Also save your work on Microsoft skydrive while in frozen state.
They give 25gb yes twenty five gigabytes free storage. Comodo Time Machine > best free system restore program but it conflicts with DF. ImmunetProtect (best) and Threat fire are specially designed secondary Antivirus programs which can be used with Avast or AVG. The best Antivirus program is GData, from Germany. It is the only antivirus on the market that uses a double scanning engine. Best free software firewalls > Comodo firewall or ZoneAlarm. But again the absolute best defense is DeepFreeze, very few people have heard of it but this is why college computers are destruction proof as far as software and bugs
How do I get my computers to share files?

I have two computers connected in my house with a router, both wired, although they are wireless capable(no wireless cards, yet, just the router). How can I share files between the two computers? Can I use a web browser to browse through the HD of the other computer? Or am I going to have to do some sort of artificial server set-up?
You have to run your set up a home or small office network wizard which is in your network connection window on the left side. You have to do this on both computers and make sure you give both computers the same work group name or they can’t connect to each other. Then after you establish a connection between the to you just have to right click on the folders you want to share and go down to sharing and security and click on that and check share this folder, you can also check allow user you make changes so you can make changes to that folder from the opposite computer. Might sound complicated but it’s not the wizard is easy to use and if you don’t want to share a folder any more just go back through and uncheck share folder.
Is it well paid?
I am thinking about doing an MSC in Computer security & forensics. I will have no work experience except for the industrial placement.
My first degree is Business administration (Banking and financial services).
Any advice please for my masters please!
Difficult question to answer because it depends on your location and the workforce.
From my experience it is definitely hard to get into the Security sector of IT, not to mention forensics.
You need plenty of work experience in similar sectors and you need to know your stuff, competition is tough.
Your best off doing Cisco Certified courses, which are expensive but may get your foot in the door.

What happens if you use an ipod on a different computer?

Hi, I have these songs I really want on my ipod, but I am in a different country. My ipod was originally used on the computer back home in the U.S. Can I download songs onto my ipod touch from another computer without having to reset my ipod to factory settings?
Please do NOT say just google it.
Yes it will work but it is extremely complicted. It will try to remove all your songs to yoir library.
Brothers computer got hacked, he basically lost his yahoo/gmail/facebook accounts. His running a malware scan so that should be cleared up. However, whatever malware or virus that got his computer, can it infect other computers that are connected to the same router my brothers laptop uses? I mean ya, a malware program can come from anywhere, but can it spread through a router like that?
Yes, absolutely. Think about what you’re asking. Can a virus, that’s transmitted through the internet to one machine, infect another machine on the same internet connection!!!☺
I jailbroke my ipod touch a while a go and I want to get rid of it. I heard that if you restore your ipod that it will unjailbreak your ipod. I have all my music, apps, and photos that I want onto my itunes just in case if it deletes everything. What will happen if I restore my ipod? Is there another way to unjailbreak an ipod touch?
you probably will brick/break it. try it & see what happens.
How to share files with my other computers?

I just bought a new PC for my room. It is using a wireless adapter, not a cable. I also have an old computer in my basement, which hold all my school work. I want to send my school work to my new computer, but I don’t have a USB flash drive. Is there a way to share files with other computers at home? Old computer is using windows vista, and the new one is using windows 7.
You should check out Office Live Workspace. It’s a cloud storage system that lets you upload, share, and edit your documents virtually, so you can access your documents anywhere as long as you have an internet connection. And, you get 5GB of storage for free.
Here is an article explaining some of the great features in Office Live Workspace: http://ask.officelive.com/workspace/blogs/workspace_team/archive/2009/10/09/top-5-reasons-you-should-be-using-office-live-workspace.aspx

I’m eventually planning on getting a laptop and I’m wondering what is the best computer security that I can have for downloading music (not like iTunes, I"ll be using MP3Rocket)? I’ll be getting a lot of music but I don’t want my computer to be full of bugs and viruses and slow down my computer. I also don’t want it to block me from downloading music. Any suggestions?
Any thing which has real time protection.
Avira or kaspersky or avast.
But if you download ONLY SONGS. Microsoft security is the best for you
